Without a battery (NEM 3.0)

Your panels produce the most midday — when you're not home. Edison pays very little for that excess, and you buy power back at full price in the evening. Your savings shrink.

With a battery

Store midday solar and use it during peak hours instead of selling low and buying high. Your savings stay strong — and you're protected during outages, essential in desert heat.

IID customers

NEM 3.0 only applies to Edison (SCE) customers. On IID? You're not affected — but a battery still adds value through backup power and energy independence.
